1/22/2011 Jannike, Curly, Luke, Majordomo and Meg came from here. She can't remember how they took them. Which is probably a lot to do with how they were able to take them. They'd just finished off one of the last of the nine demons. Melody Malone had left them for some other important duty that required her and her mighty sword. Pepper and Clare and Barto had been waiting for passage. They hoped to catch up to Nancy Nox. The small shuttle station seemed to get hazy and then... ... they were imprisoned. She couldn't make the heat, something very very cold; it took all she could do to just maintain her own body heat. And more and it seemed to cause horrible pain. It was a room of ice, and she was stuck in the center. Occasionally she had seen Barto dragged along through a door of bars, he wore chains. ![]()

1/23/2011 Just when you thought you'd gotten used to one pain, another started clawing at you. Pepper tried, again, to shift her position. And again, she failed. The cramp in her thigh would just have to stay there. It could join the way her muscles spasmed as she shivered from the constant cold and the headache she had from trying to 'make' herself warm, and her dry throat left over from the useless little rant she'd had earlier. The last was maybe the worst, given all the frozen water around she couldn't drink. There was not help for it; she couldn't do a thing to change her physical surrounding. So as she'd been doing most of the time she'd been trapped here, she fell back on her martial arts training. The deep breathing exercises helped to ease the shivering and she found that if she went through the kata in her head, she could sense her muscles trying to respond no matter what the ice would or wouldn't allow. An hour later and the cramp was gone and she felt calm again. The dry throat was still there, but it was easier to deal with when it was by itself and not part of a coalition of complaints. Pepper sighed and moved on to meditation. It was too cold to sleep, but at least she could let her mind rest a little. Her last proper thought before she got into the right rhythm was bleak; she wasn't even sure anyone knew they were here... |

1/23/2011 A woman entered, she wore the finery of a Core Professional, immaculately dressed. ![]() "Good, you have recovered enough to be sensible I hope." She quickly stripped Pepper above the waist rather without emotion and began to attached several silver and gold braided cords about her body: around her ribs, criss crossing between her breasts, they finally seemed to meld together. "Please don't attempt any temperature adjustments or you'll feel a piercing shaft of Ice split your brain. It's no illusion dear, these magical bonds are designed for just such a little fire beetle such as your self. You'll be domesticated or you'll be punished and tossed in a cage with the other malcontents." played by Stephanie Romanov "I'm Lilah, assistant to the Curator." She gestured to the door, "shall we?" |

1/29/2011 "Oi!" Pepper couldn't help yelling as the woman put hands on her and she also couldn't help trying to crispy fry the bitch. All it did was make her see stars. When she could focus again, her shirt was gone and there was some sort of gold rope running all round her.
Pepper didn't know what to be pissed off about first. "Fire beetle? What the hell? And what if I don't mind the other malcontents? I'm thinking they'd be better company that a prissy little bitch like you." Despite her words, Pepper did step toward the door. It wasn't that she wanted to do what the woman said, she just wanted out of the cold if she could. She hadn't been truly cold since before she had her power and she couldn't really remember back that far. Plus, the more she could see of this place, the better her chance of escape. She stepped through into the hall and looked around. Then down. "Gold is pretty and all, but I don't suppose I could have my shirt back? It's not like being half naked is going to change how the collar works is it?" She said, indicating the rope. It may not be around her neck, but Pepper knew a collar when she saw one. And it only served to spark off more questions. "And you said it was made for people like me. How do you know about me? Are there others?" Even when on the Nox, Pepper had never come across anyone like herself before. Her curiosity was overcoming her anger. Well, at least, it was pushing the anger aside for the moment. "And Curator? Curator of what?" Pepper's brow creased. She didn't like the sound of that at all. |

1/30/2011 Lilah's patience was superior condescending at its worst. "Of course." There were several choices of blouse and blazer outside the door. He hands were free now, she could not only walk but other freedom of action as well. "Don't be foolish, the all seeing eye watches you .. always." She pointed to her eye as though it was somehow backing up her threat. After Pepper found a choice of clother Lilah continued, "Your kind? Abnormals of course. You are so responsive to magic and its bindings, and we have the best witches on staff. Our currator has sparred no expense or favor in having only the very best. You're quite the prize you know, others like you? You're one of those truly uniques, somehow created when the gates between netherworlds opened. And not apparently it has closed." <this might tell Pepper that the efforts of Nancy Nox had succeeded.. THat was their purpose in hunting down the demons..> "Now. We'll be having guests soon. Make heat and you feel the ice. Behave and you'll be seeing your friends. If some of them are as unique as you, and we believe they are. They'll be joining you, so you won't be lonely." Pepper remembered the route. First were the rough stone walls, the small tight circular staircase that went up. It opened into a small ... courtroom... indeed... ... then across the a hall and up a wider finely carved curved stone stairwell, much larger in its upward arc. And then they arrived in a fine dining room, tables set for dozens. Across the way stood Bartolomeo Columbo. He stood silently and watched the men and women prepare the dining tables. |

2/1/2011 Pepper gave Lilah a look to say 'whatever' as the woman pointed to her eye and made her threat. First chance she had to either get out of here or fry everything in sight she was taking it. Bitchy woman's 'all seeing eye' or not. She found a shirt and jacket she could live with and threw them on before following Lilah. She started off paying attention to what was around her, but her head snapped back to Lilah as the woman talked about the gate. The bit about how Pepper was made was one thing, but what really had her going was the news the portal was closed. "Hah!" She exclaimed, a broad grin covering her face. "So they did it." She gave Lilah a gentle shove on the shoulder. "Closed the gate, good on them. Wish I'd been there." Her grin faded. What she would've given to be there and being useful, rather than here and cold. The grin disappeared altogether as Lilah went on. If what the woman was saying was true, then Pepper and Barto were probably not just prizes, they were probably live bait. Great, thought Pepper, useless, cold and bait. Could she be more pathetic at the moment. She started paying attention to her surroundings again, trying her best to peer down any corridors or through any doorways that led off their current path, but she couldn't see much. Certainly nothing useful. And the courtroom was just downright creepy considering where they were and what it could be used for. Speaking of creepy, Barto was looking a little more stark than usual. "Barto?" Pepper called. "You ok?" |

2/1/2011 "Bun bedder." He forced a smile, gold and silver threads laced through his mouth; it had been sewed shut with the same magical materiel that bound Pepper. He held up his hands. They were covered in thumbless gold and silver stranded mittens. "Delightful!" a man stepped between them, an arm around them both and he gave them a hug. "This is going to be the best yet. Better than the Yeti hunt of 1818, better than that round up of Centaurs... ha hah... So, you two comfortable? you mates are coming I think." He gave Barto an extra big hug. "Sorry Clare can't make it, she rather resistant to being led around by the nose. But she's fine." He smiled at Bartolomeo. Bartolomeo Columbo smiled back, his desire to do horrible things to ... "I am Boreanaz Angelicus. Your host." He stepped away, turned around, "You've heard of me?" Columbo just groaned with hatred. "Wuhzard." Said Barto to Pepper as he tried to shoot magic missiles from is eyes at the now retreating form of their host. ![]() Boreanaz Angelicus |

2/2/2011 Pepper grimaced as Barto showed her his additions. "Damn, suddenly getting stripped and bound doesn't seem so bad. Still not fun, but..." She shrugged. Then suddenly there was a man between them. A very buff, very good looking man. And very evil, Pepper revised as the guy started talking. Apparently all of this was some big game to this Angelicus. She added a scowl of her own to Barto's glower. "Wizard?" She asked Barto; it was hard to make out words through the new threads. "Oi! What exactly is going on here?" She yelled at the retreating back. "Who are you, properly. And what's the point of all this?" To her mind, wizard wasn't nearly enough of an explanation and right now she didn't get if she was a dinner guest or some sort of entertainment. |

2/3/2011 "The point?" Angelicus continued to walk back, and away. "The finest beings in all the verses, that ever were, and ever will be. Abnormals, supernaturals, mythicals, enhanced ubermensches even... One place, one time. It's . . .it's beautiful." He smiled, maybe insanely, but seemingly sincere. And happy, and proud. "Mmmh." said Bartolomeo. He was moving off to the side of the Dining area. No one seemed to be watching, or waiting to stop them. Or guarding them in anyway. A hoofed furry male with a bracelet of golden-silver was chatting up a female with flowing green clothing and pointed ears; a golden-sliver earing in her ear. He kept moving closer to rub up against her, she kept pushing him gently back. Two short dwarves with golden-silver collars drank at a table with a being that had some sort of extended mouth much like a leach; it sucked at a dead rabbit slumped in its hand. A misty apparition moved about, it would take form as a feminine form, a sparkle of gold and silver would glimmer then it faded back to mist. < explore away until the others arrive I suppose > |

2/6/2011 Pepper glared, huffed, then turned to Barto. "You know about wizardy stuff; anyway to get a message to the Nox? Let them know it's a trap?" She crossed her arms and felt the cord binding her torso bite into her skin. "For that matter, anyway to get these damned ropes off?" She figured it was a stupid question; if Barto knew a way his mouth probably wouldn't look like a cross stitch pattern right about now, but she had to ask anyway. Her attention then turned to the rest of the room and the odd collection of creatures there. "What about this lot. Anyone dangerous? Anyone we could use?" Pepper found herself mesmerised by the mist lady for a moment. Now there was a thing. She could work with an element, but to float around, actually as one when you wanted to... She shook her head and took a look at the rest. Some she could guess at, others... "Ugh." She said, grimacing as she caught sight of the leechy thing. She followed Barto as she spoke, trying to look at everything at once. There were no guards, no closed doors. "I'm guessing the guards are of the magical type here then, what with him being a wizard. What do you think will happen if we just try to leave? Magical trip wire? Alarms blaring? Or are we likely to just get ourselves smote. Smoted... Whatever the term for that is..." |

2/8/2011 Bartolomeo replied in a most intellectual manner, "Hmmgck." "KLARE?" he carefully ennunciated as he led her to the southeast, ... passed by a couple of doors that clearly led out, .... "Not leaving without..." .... then down a large stair case and then up a narrow staircase... "Did you see her?" ... and the were in an five sided dirt floor of an arena. The entrances varied, steps leading up or down along the side. Seats along those side and above many overlooked from a balcony. In the center two beheamoths each the size of two men grapples in a battle of monsterous strength. The rocky orange hue of one contrasted with the dark green tint of the larger. "Down?" asked Barto. . . "I've a plan." he said. Held up his gold and silver mittens. "Gonna turn this magik off."

2/8/2011 Janet landed Nancy Nox and its crew departed. Curly was in human form: Nancy Farberer that is: She wore a modern dress, plain but stylish. Reserved. She stayed close to Luke, explained.. "I figure I can always change... " Majordomo looks quite dashing in a very formal tux. Meg Master was in a pant suit that looked like it hid armor and half a dozen weapons; which of course it did, so... hid, not being the best of descriptions. They took an ornate hover up the path, it dropped them off at the gate. Several guards outside the gate paid little attention. Much like those just inside, they seemed to be pulling at the uncomfortable uniforms: < assuming Jannike is going with them.. just seems like more fun to keep them together.> |

2/8/2011 Jannike strolled along with the rest of the group. She would not have looked out of place at a rock concert or a nightclub. Stage magicians didn't have a thing on yakuza assassins when it came to hiding rabbits (or knives) on their person. The sight of the uniforms drew comment, but at least she got it under control before they reached easy earshot. "Wicked Witch or no Wicked Witch... guards or no guards! I'll tear them apart. I may not come out alive, but I'm going in there... " (Sorry for the slow week - I didn't mean to be gone so long, just one of those weeks. )

Luke
|
2/14/2011 It seemed Luke and Jannike had a similar style when it came to their choice of outfit. But no sooner had Luke begun to look at Jannike in a different light, than she said something odd. He just kind of raised his eyebrows at her, figuring this was another quote he didn't recognise. Or maybe it was just nonsense. Curly was in human form: Nancy Farberer that is. She wore a modern dress, plain but stylish. Reserved. She stayed close to Luke, explained.. "I figure I can always change... " Luke didn't know if she meant change her dress, or change into her feline form. He wanted to compliment her, but wasn't really sure how. Telling her she looked nice in human form might sound like an insult to her more natural state. Instead he just smiled and replied, "Let's hope there's no need." He let Majordomo and Meg take the lead, staying a few paces behind them. He was thinking there might be some strategy in not making it obvious that they were all together, but at the same time he didn't think it a good idea to split up. So he hung back with Curly and Jannike, assuming they didn't mind his company. |
