Andrew raised a brow at the mention of Cooper and Mac no longer being on the ship. Two less detectives that he had to worry about. This might be easier than I thought... Still, he couldn't let the good news get the better of him. He still had Hutch to worry about, and Andrew feared he might be a handful alone. Afterall, the very presence of the man made him highly uneasy, even within Adria's company.

He was a little bothered by the fact that Hutch had not placed Adria and he in the same room. Instead he had put her with that Akira woman. Obviously their relationship was already known among the crew. He wondered if by some chance it was delibrate... Or maybe he was just being paranoid, as usual.

Hutch says:
"Oh... And it's the one immediately forward of mine. I hope you don't mind having me as a neighbor."

Andrew froze for a second, his jaw clenched and his muscles tightened. "With all due respect, sir," stated Andrew, hiding his emotion as best he good through gritted teeth. "I don't see why her and I can not share a bunk ourselves." He didn't like these sleeping arrangements at all. Not only was he not being served a suite, but aside from being next to Hutch the fact that he could not go into Adria's room without having to worry about Akira barging in bothered him even more.

"With all due respect, sir. I don't see why her and I can not share a bunk ourselves."

Hutch raised an eyebrow at him and paired it with a half smile.

"You guys together?" he asked rhetorically. He already knew. It only took that outburst by Andrew to figure it out. "Just all the better to have a place of your own. I am a bit of a traditionalist. I bunk women with women if possible. It's a flaw of mine. And being the Captain, I get to indulge in my funny notions.

"Don't worry, you can always go visit whenever you want. I don't really care about who's rutting who. Although I am glad to know so that I won't place you on the same details now. Hard to keep your wits about you if you have to worry about the other person being in trouble."

His thoughts ran back to Lily. He totally blew it there. He was totally blind when it came to her. And look where it got him. Worse yet, look where it almost got her.

"Believe me," he said a little softer. "There's nothing worse than watching a loved one die."

And he indeed knew the feeling of that.

"Get your gear stowed, then go on to the Infirmary to get a general look over. Want to make sure you are all healthy before we head out."

Hutch smiled at Andrew.

"And hey... Being my neighbor won't be that bad. I'll keep the parties to a minimum," Hutch tried to joke, but he didn't know how flat it fell. "Anyway. I have paperwork to finish."

And Hutch turned and left.

Adria nodded and moved to finish packing her things. She raised an eyebrow a bit at Andrew's question to Hutch. Well I certainly hope he wasn't planning to keep things discreet she thought, somewhat amused. At Hutch's question about them being together, Adria just looked at Andrew then grinned and shrugged as if to say can you blame me? before returning to her packing. She left the men to their conversation. Adria knew full well Hutch had a valid point about not putting them on the same detail and such things. Less chance of getting...distracted...that way. It wasn't like they couldn't visit anyway, or snatch time together when they weren't working. Besides...it wasn't like they were married, so there wasn't any valid reason to object to the room arrangements.

In a small corner of her mind, Adria wondered if maybe this was for the best in the long run. Sure they had a lot of lust between them, but she and Andrew really hadn't known each other very long. There was also the fact that something was bothering Andrew, and he wasn't talking. She wasn't too happy about that since it clearly had something to do with her...going by the question about her being packed, and that he seemed barely able to look at her. None of Adria's thoughts were evident...partially because she was controlling her body language and expression, but also because she kept herself turned away from the men for the most part.

"See you around" Adria said by way of farewell when Hutch left.

She waited a few minutes before turning to look at Andrew, letting him see her annoyance. "Now...you want to tell me why you suddenly changed your mind?" she demanded.

"Mac"
12/5/10

Mac had gotten back aboard Constable a while ago, but had more trouble writing up her resignation than she thought she would have. Then again, she wasn't really practiced at it. She usually stuck with things, so moving on was a fairly rare occurrence for her. Eventually, it was done, though, and sent off to Hutch's pad. All that remained was to gather up her things and find transport to Greenleaf where her next assignment waited. Gathering up her gear was all too easy; most of it had remained unpacked. Fortunately, she wasn't the type for much self-reflection, so that fact went, for the most part, unregistered.

She ghosted through the corridors of Constable. It wasn't that she was avoiding anyone, but the ship seemed deserted all the same. She hadn't felt like going out of her way to say good-bye to anyone; most of them she barely knew. And without anyone else wandering the corridors, she was able to slip off without any undue fuss.

Only once did she stop and look back at the ship, silently wishing those who'd stayed on board the best of luck. Then hoisting her duffel over her shoulder, she made her way through the port and to the ship that would take her to her new home, Drake.

Akira continued to try and sooth Lily's racing mind, her hands gently rubbing one of the other woman's. "Yes, dear. He has been taken into custody, and he will not be able to get to you again. You are currently on the ILEV Constable." She realized that the woman was probably thrown off by the fact that the person watching over her was not someone she knew, and that alone could keep a person on edge. Akira just hoped that Lily would at least give her enough trust to allow her to take care of her while she was in the infirmary.

"I am fairly new to this ship, and Ms. Eva stepped out for a moment to... tend to something else." Akira didn't want to tell Lily what Eva had said about the poor girl, or how it seemed to be how the other woman felt about the young patient. After all that she had been through, Akira was pretty sure that Lily didn't need to know that little detail. Besides, Akira was here at the very least to take over where Eva obviously lacked. And unlike Eva, Akira was not going to abandoned a patient just because of personal opinions. "Are you comfortable my dear? Would you like anything?"

"Yes, dear. He has been taken into custody, and he will not be able to get to you again. You are currently on the ILEV Constable."

Lily's confusion went from sheer fright and confusion to rellief. She slumped back against the bed for a moment.

"I'm on the Constable? Where's Hutch? Or Cooper?" she asked as she started to get up again. "I'm not in too much pain. Really. I can take a lot."

Lily forced herself up to a seated position, her grip on the bed tightening as she swayed a bit. The blood loss had left her a bit dizzy.

"Whoa..."

"I am fairly new to this ship, and Ms. Eva stepped out for a moment to... tend to something else."

Lily snorted.

"More like trying to figure out how to either kill me or permanently get me off this boat without pissing off Hutch," she told Akira. "You know, I almost think she is secretly attracted to him and would love to jump his bones, but as to her probably behavior... Let me guess... Eva made some rather snide comments about my profession, yada yada and all that?"

Lily rubbed her eyes as the blanket slipped off and she noticed that she was naked. They must have brought her in like that. After all, he had her tied to the bed that way. She didn't even bother with any modesty. After all she was a whore. She took off her clothing for a living.

"Are you comfortable my dear? Would you like anything?"

"Yes, I would like to see Hutch, if that is possible. I will need to make arrangements to get back to work," she asked. "And I suppose I should see something about clothes. I don't remember if I left anything here from my last visit. If not, I will have to make due with something else."

Andrew felt a little better in spite of everything the moment Hutch left. He let out a slight sigh of relief and glanced back from the door to Adria. He hesitated yet again at her question, not knowing quite how to put it. Not to mention his reason behind staying might seem as though he were afraid.. a coward. "I'm in a bit of a jam," he explained. "Screwed over the wrong people a while back... and now it's all catching up to me. I need some place to lay low for a while until I'm certain it has all blown over. The way I see it there is no better place to hide then on a ship like the Constable. Nobody with half a brain would dare try and take me out here while I'm under the law enforcements wing." He let out a frustrated sigh and moved back to the bed, taking a seat and allowing himself to relax a little.

"I don't want this to upset you, but I think the less you know the better." Now he was able to look her in the eye. "If something were to happen to you again because of me I don't think I would be able to get over that. I'm still having trouble forgetting about Ink. Speaking of which... I know I made a promise to you, and I plan to stay true to that." He shrugged lightly then. "I think it would just be best until this new problem of mine blows over, and when Ink has forgotten us and moved on."

Adria eyed Andrew as he spoke. She debated about whether or not to believe him. What he said about laying low on the ship made sense...if what he was saying was true. On the other hand, she knew what his...other...line of work was. Could he have taken a contract on someone on the ship? Hutch maybe...or Akira...Eva...the whore they'd rescued...those were the first to come to mind. There were other possibilities as well, but those were the first she thought of.

She sighed in exasperation. She wanted to believe him...but could she take that chance? Adria decided she'd give him the benefit of the doubt, but would remain subtly on guard. She nodded once to acknowledge what he'd said.

"We'd need a plan to go after Ink" she replied, a subtle indicator she was moving on. "Waiting gives us time to come up with one." Adria jumped up to sit on top of the desk-dresser thing where she'd had her things piled and looked at Andrew again. "Might as well take out the Boss and his entire crew while we're at it" she added, completely serious. "I think we might have to in order to get to Ink."

Akira had went about her business after Lily had promised to get some rest. And she tried to rest, but Hutch never came. It was unlike him.

With some discomfort, she sat up, disconnected her IVs and grabbed a set of scrubs from a nearby cabinet. She slipped them on and then padded out of the infirmary, creeping along in hopes that no one would see her. Anyone who did would most likely make her go back and rest.

She was surprised that her memory was good enough to get her from the infirmary to Hutch's room. She was about to knock on the door when she noticed it was open a crack. With curiosity, she peeked in.

It wasn't pretty. She'd never seen him like this.

Hutch

Hutch was pacing. His hair was scruffy, like he had taken a nap. His clothes were also a bit disheveled.

And he was mumbling.

He had his CorPad in his hand and was flipping through pages of stuff.

"Not qualified. Hasn't flown anything bigger that a mid-bulk."

He went to another page.

"Not qualified. Hasn't even passed the exam for this class of ship."

Next.

"Good... But won't get here in time."

Next.

"Look this guy is in jail!"

Next.

"Not qualified."

He tossed the Pad across the room where it hit the desk.

"I have a case arriving way too soon and I don't have a rutting pilot!"

He sat down on the desk's chair and thought for a moment before picking up the CorPad and resuming his search.

As Lily peeked into Hutch's bunk, something occurred to her that hadn't ever before. At least not seriously.

But things had changed in the District. In the past couple of weeks, too much had happened. Blane had beat her senseless, nearly killing her. LTC Kenrowe had tried to exact some retribution from her for what he perceived was an appointment he had been cheated out of. Ink had set his eyes upon her as a conquest. Luckily that hadn't come to fruition... yet. Worse than that was the Butcher. Lily was still trying to wrap her head around the fact that it had been Silas Bradford the whole time. He tried to kill her though. Several times. Cutting her and letting her bleed. Strangling her over and over. Lily's hand reached up to her neck, which was still tender to the touch. The bruising would be there for a while, but Eva had promised that it would fade away.

The District was getting dangerous for her. It might have been all a coincidence, but even coincidences cause a person to take stock in their life.

So she didn't even bother to disturb Hutch. She could tell he was already stressed out. She went and found a cortex terminal and made a call. A very important one. One that could change her life forever.

Andrew stared at her silently then, all his troubles slowly drifting to the back of his mind. It seemed she was content with the news he had delivered, which pleased him. It was a major relief now that it was out of the way, and she didn't seem half as disappointed about it as he had feared. It was as if a big weight had been lifted off his shoulders.

Adria says:
"Might as well take out the Boss and his entire crew while we're at it"

Andrew smiled. "Don't get too carried away," he said. "If we have to, we will. But as of now I think Ink should be our main concern." And then he was silent again, staring at her as though she were a flawless picture of beauty. A rare, shiny artifact on display. She was a cop, someone that was supposed to uphold a significant stance of morality. Yet there she was, talking about killing as simply and easily as if planning a vocational cruise.

Fire.

Andrew's hungry, devilish look never faltered as he held up his index finger and beckoned her closer.

"Yeah...but it sure won't hurt my feelings any if we find ourselves having to kill the Boss and other cronies on our way" Adria replied with a grin.

The look Andrew was giving her made things low in her body tighten. She smirked slightly at the beckoning gesture, and stayed where she was. Her eyes roamed over him slowly. After a long moment, she slowly got down from her perch and walked over to stand in front of him...but just out of reach. She arched an eyebrow at him and let her gaze roam over him again before she met his eyes again. Adria looked at him questioningly...teasingly...a tiny hint of a smile playing at the corners of her mouth. She said nothing though, and didn't move any closer...making him put forth a bit more effort if he wanted...more.

Andrew watched as she came closer, only to stop just out of reach. He might not have been the smartest man alive, but he knew well enough now when she was being a tease. It only increased his urge to take her, and without further delay he stepped forward and swept her off her feet. Holding her in his arms, he turned to the bed and (not all too gently) tossed her to the bed. He let out a short laugh before hopping on the bed himself, pinning her arms to the cushions. He leaned in and kissed her. Her legs apart, he gently pressed himself against her, the weight increasing. With his mouth still occupied, Andrew reached down and began removing his buckle.
