The White Horse Tavern offers Core folk looking to get some atmosphere and Shippers of the Mid-Bulk variety looking for crew and jobs; and those needing a ship - a place to find the 'right' kind of ship and crew. The entrance along the Docks main road is for the tourist and reputable folks; a place where those that don't really feel like calling the White Horse home can still drop in and be seen. It's a shiny cool thing to stop by the White Horse for a drink. In the enter from the main door is the bar for just that. Off to the right a large area for crews and shippers with an entrance off to the alley that leads to some of the lesser reputable inns and alley shops. To the left, the rogues from the Core: writers and artists and such. There's an entrance there too, which leads to the large multistory apartment building where the 'do-nothings' sleep or do their art or make love or drop drops. Usually they're in the White Horse, talking and drinking. Everyone gets along for the most part, the proprietor keeps plenty of smart but tough bouncers to keep the crowd under control, and the drinks flowing, and the deals getting made. Sluggo Martino is that proprieter. Long ago he was a legend of a Freestyle Wrestler at the Cruiserweight 'back in his day' when folks cared about such things. He spoke on behalf of independents though, and has ended up as proprietor and bartender at the White Horse. He'll know what's what: let him know what's going on, he'll let you; good for jobs or ships or connections. |

4/15/10 The Advocate and LTC Kenrowe came from here. Andrew came from here. Andrew slipped into the Tavern and into a booth off to the side. It didn't take long to find LTC Kenrowe and the Advocate sitting at the Bar. Kenrowe was loud and bawdy, interacting with a nearby whore. Andrew could see the look in his eyes. It wasn't much unlike Ink's. This guy was a sadist as much as Ink was. He wondered if the whore knew that. Andrew thought back to Vala and how she looked on the vid screen that the Boss and Ink showed him. He definitely knew that Ink enjoyed every bit of pain he dispensed on her. He also knew what Ink really wanted to do with her and the fact that the man was probably praying for his failure. His jaw set and he watched. The place was crowded enough and that worked for him. People would mostly be wrapped up in their own affairs, rather than looking about at other folks. "I'm done," he heard LTC Kenrowe say to his Advocate. "Pay the bill and go get a taxi while I finish up here." The Advocate nodded and plunked down some coin on the bar and left to go hail a hovertaxi. The bartender grabbed up the payment and went down to the opposite end to put it in the Till and close out their tab. In the meantime, Kenrowe had the whore pulled nearly in his lap and if you were halfway observant, which no one in the establish really was, it would have been seen that Kenrowe had his hand up inside the girl's dress. She giggled and moaned softly into his ear. Andrew stood up and made his way towards the couple, his gloved hand wrapping around the knife in his jacket. He sauntered up alongside the couple, under the guise of dropping off his empty glass. He heard the whore make a date with Kenrowe, probably not realizing what she was setting herself up for and then another moan and a comment about what a "bad boy" Kenrowe was. Perfect. I get to put the wang ba dan down while he is trying to line up his next sexual conquest. Andrew looked around and was surprised that no one was looking. A few whores were around occupying the attention of various men. There were dock workers enthralled by trading stories of space adventure and sexual conquests. There was a couple of tables that contained ship's captains and the contacts making business arrangements. They were like islands all of their own. Andrew set his glass down on the bar and he laid his hand on Kenrowe's shoulder as if to tell him something. Kenrowe whipped his head around ready to bark an insult at the person who was interrupting his fun, but before he could get a word out, Andrew plunged the knife into the man's ribs, shoving it in, up and then giving it a quick twist. Andrew looked Kenrowe in the eye and nearly laughed at the absurd way that the LTC looked at him. Like he was shocked anyone would have the balls to carry out a hit on him. Kenrowe was also not dumb. Being a soldier, he knew that Andrew's razor sharp blade had sliced through more than a few vital organs. He knew that he wasn't long for this world. Kenrowe almost wished he had more assassins like that during the war. An odd thing to think of at a time like that. The whore was about to scream as she saw and felt the man's blood start running down her bare leg, but she looked into Andrew's eyes and just sat there, frozen. "This is compliments of the Boss," Andrew told the dying man, alerting the whore that this was her signal to shut her gorram mouth. "Apparently, Sir, you pissed off the wrong guy." Andrew pulled out the knife and quickly wiped it on Kenrowes jacket before deftly returning it to it's place in his coat. "Good evening, miss," Andrew said to the horrified woman, winking at her. "The Boss thanks you for your cooperation." With a smile on his face and more than a powerful need to find Vala, he left the tavern, actually holding the door open for the Advocate to return to his dying employer and headed back towards the Caberet Royale. He had just reached the other side of the street when the screams started and cries from the Advocate requesting medical attention were heared wafting from the doorway. Andrew continues here (to hear Ink's message). |

4/16/10 Monkey watched Andrew from the shadows, keeping very close tabs on him while staying out of sight. He smiled at the ease in which Andrew plunged the knife into LTC Kenrowe. He was also impressed with the quiet exit as well. Monkey stayed nearby, watching, until he was sure the LTC was indeed dead. He watched the coroner take the body out in a body bag. And just to make sure, he stopped the whore when she exited the Tavern. "Hello dear," Monkey said to her as he fell in step with the woman. "I hear that there was some excitement inside the Tavern." "You know there was, Monkey," she said shakily. "That guy Kenrowe is dead." "You know that for sure?" "I was right there! Saw the whole thing! I even have the man's blood all over me!" "Thanks for confirming that the target is dead." "And the guy who did it whispered that the Boss had it ordered. You have my word. If the Boss was involved, not a word will come out of my mouth." Monkey deftly guided her around a corner and into a narrow alley leading over to another street. It was deserted, which worked well for Monkey. "I know you won't," Monkey said calmly as he wrapped his arm around the girl in a seemingly friendly embrace. Out of no where, a knife of his own came out. The whore only saw it for a second before he killed her on the spot. She fell onto the ground and bled out rapidly. When it was over, Monkey merely used his foot to push her off to the side of the alley so she laid along side the wall. He shook his head and sighed. "Loose ends. Too bad too. Wrong place, wrong time." Monkey removed his coat and turned it around (it is reversible) and put it back on cover the blood that smeared it. Quickly, he left the alley and headed towards his home to soak the coat in Bio-Bleach. He didn't remember how many times he's done that, but it worked miracles. Made the tan coat look like new. He flipped on his PDA and sent a message to the Boss. It was short and sweet.
