6/24/09 OWNERSHIP The figure in the blue liquid recedes slightly from view. A moment passes, she does not reappear. The screen and voice, "Many have come and gone from the Nox with an understanding of redemption from some source or another. But it was not I, nor the ship that put you in bondage, so such relief is not something that can be promised by anyone here. As long as your motives do not conflict with ours, I see no difficulties." "Will you take the mantle of leadership? The only assurance being that I believe it will increase the likely-hood of your success." ________________________________________ ________________________________________ < Those in the Medical Building have been moved to another thread > LINK AT BOTTOM |

6/30/09 She eyes Mary Galenus from time to time, hovering near her. But never quite approaches. Mary was still "recovering" from the previous labor, so she was excitedly tapping the end of her cane on the floor albeit it very quietly. At the same time, she was feeling sorta elated on a crew member letting her help him. Denns had issues. Serious issues. But she had seen a glimpse of what was going to try to stop her from helping him and she was not afraid. Janet was hovering around her, too. Mary could sense that she wanted to talk, but she wouldn't rush her. It is more productive to wait until they approach, rather than trying to be too proactive on their behalf. They have to want her help. As things moved along, Mary edged closer to Janet and leaned towards her. "I'm here if you want to talk," she whispered. "No hurry on my part. I can wait until you are ready." "I'm in on the Demon hunt. Probably a good idea since my weapons can't be sussed out by any detectors." Mary smiled. Another labor. She was game. It would be interesting to see if her blind vision would be restored already and whether or not the newfound clarity would come along as well. "I'm in as well," Mary said. "Just point me in the right direction." Mary moves on to labor at Carter City LINK AT BOTTOM |

6/30/09 She was .... annoyed. Here she was, having to hold the Sword at the proper angle for the umpteeth time as they flew around the building. Her arms were tired and her sholders ached. Holding a weapon that weighed nearly fifty pounds from one end with most of the weight in front of you was no fun. And Janet. Janet with her 'Just one more time.' ... 'And, again' ... Whats that piece of feh-oo tellin ya now.' She had clearly had enough and grounded the point. The deck sparked as the blade bit into the steel deck an 1/8 of an inch. She looked at Janet after she had relayed the information to the ground crew. "I'l be in my quarters" She left the bridge with the unmistakable scent of ozone in the air. Once in her room, Melody again fell into a deep sleep. It was far from restful The sword was no longer hers to command. She still had her job to do. She still had her dreams. It had been six years since she was forced to leave the Nox. A trail of blood followed her even here. Her hand were covered with the vile red liquid. Since the Sword would not answer to her, she had resorted to using her bare hands. Other weapons never seemed to work. Only her hands. She had ripped off heads and arms and bashed brain cases and popped hearts. She had done it all for so long that she didn't know why she continued. Except for the dreams. And the memory. She sat down on the rocky ground of Earth-That-Was and her head lolled to her chest. Sleep took her, and as always, the dreams came. Even here, even now, they came. The dream in her dream was of her last days on the Nox. The Demons had taken several of the crew and the sword would not come to her. She had to kill them all in order to save the 'Verse. Janet had been easy. Mary had been hard. Clare was the last as she plunged her hand throught the woman's chest and took her heart. She showed it to her as fire flared and the light died from the woman's eyes. Melody awoke screaming. |
