12/2/09 Mary was surprised by the coldness of Luke's skin when they touched, but it was overshadowed by the sudden appearance of another being only to have that feeling disappear as soon as she lost skin on skin contact with him. She did feel his apprehension of her and the anxiety that went with it. He didn't like the fact she touched him. And the closeness of the swings of the blade he made, punctuated that dislike very, very well. She didn't flinch though. She just kept studying him. He needs my help, but he doesn't see it, she thought. "Luke," she said softly to him. "You don't need to be afraid of me. I mean you no harm. I only want to help. I hope you will come to trust me some day and let me do what I was created to do: to Calm." She lowered her voice even more, so only he could hear her. "I sense that you are deeply troubled. I really can help. If you'd let me," she said soothingly. "My door is always open, just come find me if you need me." |

Luke

12/3/09 At first Luke laughed in a nervous way at Mary's words. "Afraid?" He raised his eyebrows and shook his head with another short laugh. "Nah, I'm not scared of you Mary. Just a lot to take in all at once, you know." He swept his swordless hand around the room, indicating all the crew as well as meaning the ship itself. He danced slightly on his feet shifting his weight, the cigarette bobbing between his lips again. "Just give a guy a little time to get accustomed." He took a drag, careful to blow the smoke well away from Mary's face because she had said she didn't like it, and smiled at her then. It was a smile disarming enough to seem genuine. It had that air of being carefree, easy-going, and cocky enough to know he was hot. But of course Mary could see past the outward show, even if Luke was good at it. She leaned in closer and spoke quietly, which really only served to wig him out even more. But that was on the inside, on the outside he leaned in to her too, looking closely at her with a flirtatious glint in his eyes. He took another drag, pinching it tightly between two fingers, and breathed out the smoke slowly, again careful where he sent it to avoid Mary as best he could. "Sure babe," he was laying the cocky player attitude on thick now. "You're about the third to indicate such an invitation to me, I'm sure I'll get around all you lovely ladies eventually." He winked then, as if he was sort of joking but not really. He caught a glimpse out the corner of his eye of Adriana Lucy, sitting on the table, arms folded, pursed lips grinning and shaking her head. He averted his eyes quickly, taking another long drag. "That enough socialising for one day?" he asked his sister with a somewhat defeated sigh. But of course everyone still in the room heard him ask, whether they thought he was talking to himself or Mary. He straightened up and shook his head, somewhat aghast at just how much of a mess he seemed to have made of his first social encounter with the crew he was apparently going to be serving with for the rest of his life. |

12/4/09 Majordomo joined Roland in heading to meet with Ownership.
Janet stayed busy, working out alternatives in the bridge, working out, sleeping. Occasionally a sexual revieing look of interest at Roland or Luke, but she doesn't pursue it. To the other women, except Mary, they seem to her invisible. With Mary, Janet seems getting ready. Ready to come to confession or some such. Working up to it. Curley prowls the ship, like a cat with nervous energy. She's in Feline form. Unlike other were-creatures, it is her natural state. Human is the altered form. She has no objections to talking about herself. That the DNA allows her to reproduce with Human and Therian-thrope. The natural superiority of the cross breeding done by her genius creator lover M. Etc. |

12/7/09 "Sure babe. You're about the third to indicate such an invitation to me, I'm sure I'll get around all you lovely ladies eventually." Mary smiled at him like a mother would an impish child. "Luke," she sighed. "If I wanted you in my bed, I don't think I would give you the invitation where there was a chance to be heard. I don't like to broadcast my... desires." She cocked her head and studied him closer. Her face fell a little as she gleaned some emotions off him. "Yep," she said again. "Troubled. Deeply. And trying to cover up with annoying, cocky attitude. Should I continue?" To avoid running him off from her forever, she amended her statement. She wanted to help him. To calm him. But she didn't want to freak him out any more. "Never mind," she quickly said. "I am going to go get ready for the game. I have some work to do on my costume." She smiled peacefully at Luke. "Perhaps we can talk another time? When you know me better?" Then she turned and headed for the foredeck where her bunk was located. |
