10/10/09 Mullin cast another glance at the blonde girl when she spoke up on their behalf, taking note of her reasoning for wanting to be out of the room. So she did have some sort of...well, something going on. Or she was a robot, but that was neither here nor there. The important bit was that he and Luke had just been given passage, which was exactly the sort of news he needed to hear. "Thank you, sir," he replied, extending his hand to the man. "Hopefully we won't let you down. My name is Mullin Walker, but the way." |

Luke

10/13/09 A feel for them? Luke looked over at the blonde woman, his face set with the mask of a blank expression. Underneath he was wondering what exactly that meant and how much a feel of him she would be able to get. The last thing he wanted was someone feeling around his emotions, or his aura. If she caught a glimpse of his darkness... Roland interrupted Luke's dark thoughts with an unenthusiastic yes, but Luke couldn't manage any feeling of being grateful with the possibility of shipping out with some kind of reader. He could sense his sister's smile and her relief beside him, but he couldn't manage to look at her. The guilt and shame of his past was difficult enough to deal with, the last thing he wanted was someone else to know about it too. Luckily he didn't have to think about that right now. There was a demon, or many demons. Luke didn't really care so much, it sounded like there would be something to fight. He twitched the corner of his mouth almost like a grin. "Did someone say demons? We talking possession or big nasty monsters?" he asked with a little too much enthusiasm. |

"All of...are you sure?" Roland swore then drew his sawed off shotgun in one hand and balanced short blade in the other. "Of course you're sure. Why do I even bother to ask? Great, I prefer a straight-up fight to all this mucking around. We might want to clear this place out...or at any rate I think the people here will run when it comes. No worries." Roland felt the urge to tell Mary that her prayers weren't helping much. In truth, God had only the vaguest recollection of creating humanity and that was simply on whim during a lazy cosmic afternoon when she was looking to fill up a bit of time. She wasn't happy with how the project turned out and made a resolution to get back to it when time permitted. That was several million years ago.
"Nothing really," said Roland matter-of-factly. "Interdimensional squatters, can't keep to their own plane or dimension. Ah, you said you were armed right? No pressure, but you might want to ready your weapons." |

10/14/09 Mary felt... right. She felt more like herself than she'd been in a long time. The vampiric hunger to calm people that she experienced since receiving Clare's blood had disappeared. And because a labor had begun, she felt strong. She looped the rosary over her head to hang around her neck, normally a big no-no; it wasn't meant to be jewelry. But she wanted it close. Somewhere it would be easy to reach. She got up from under the table and looked around. Her blind sight had returned and it was a comfort. "I'm good now," Mary told Roland. "Everything is good as gold." She took a moment to look over at their new crew members. The one called Mullin was tense, his body coiled like a spring. She decided he could use a good calming when they got back to the ship, that is, if they lived and if he was willing. He had a... buzz to him. He possessed some kind of power, but it wasn't an agressive one. But it felt familiar, like they were connected somehow, even by a thin thread. She smiled at him. Then she looked over at Luke. When she looked at Roland, his outline blurred because of the multiple lives stacked one on top of another. When she studied Luke, he had more of a shadow to him. And it seemed to move independently. Plus she sensed a coolness, temperature-wise to him. Interesting. She could also tell he was troubled, but when he got down to it all, he was a good guy, even if he didn't trust it. She smiled at him too, hoping that it would make him feel welcomed. "New guys seem good," she whispered to Roland. "And they are like us... special, but I don't know any details." Then she turned her attention to the crowd and made a brief pass, but it was starting to make her head hurt. So she just stood there, both hands on the staff that was resting on the floor, closed her eyes and let her calming power radiate around her. Her crewmates needed to be loose and ready and she would try to do everything she could to help them. |

10/14/09 Melody and Belit (from the nearby crew) both now stood with their swords extended out toward the rear of the raised platform. Captain Fedora took notice and gave them a frown. As Nancy Nox's crew armed up she scowled, a hand motioned for them to settle, suggesting such behavior wasn't mannerly. The door behind her opened and a woman was led out by two men. The woman bound in iron cuffs, chastity belt and some sort of bizarre head piece complete with ball gag. All the bondage gear seemed to be made of iron, which apparently unknown to the pirates gathered, prevented the demon bound within from doing much of anything. The demon's female host was also naked and with proportions that seemed to impress the males in the hall. Bosum and bottom of tremendous size. "That's it." said Melody, her sword extended directly at the woman. "Whoa." added Belit, her sword shaking in her hand. "What does this mean?" "It means you have a sword of power." Melody told her. Belit raised her eyebrow as though she didn't quite buy that little bit of malarky. The possessed woman's eye suddenly went from casual (after all, IT would find a way to be free at some point) to terror as it saw the crew of Nancy Nox. "Looky what I got?" Said Fedora. She still looked at the Nancy Nox crew with concern. Mr. Freeze moved closer to a guard and nudged him to be aware of the crew as well. |

10/14/09
"Thanks for the clear and precise explanation," Adriana Lucy intoned sarcastically. "What the hell are interdimensional squatters?" she asked Luke, her eyes fearful for her brother's safety. "Don't know, don't care," Luke muttered in response, eager for a fight. Just before he moved to turn back to the Pellucidar table where he had left his duffel bag, guitar case and weaponry, he noticed the blonde chick staring at him. He paused for a second, caught off guard by it. The earlier mention of her being able to get a feel for him freaked him out, and he didn't like the way she was smiling at him one bit. He turned quickly away, trying to shake the feeling of being watched, as he jogged back to where Captain Porter and the others were sitting. "Looks like we're hired, and they've already put us to work," he said quickly, grabbing his shotgun and taking a few seconds to check that his large silver knife was still tucked inside his boot. He wasn't exactly sure what kind of weaponry Roland had meant, so he unzipped his duffel and hurriedly pulled out various shells, some loaded with rock salt, some with iron and some with silver. "Any chance you know what kills an inter dimensional squatter demon?" he asked with his eyebrows raised and a small grin, meant mostly as a joke. He dumped his duffel back under the table for now - he should be able to come back for his stuff after they dealt with the demons. Luke stepped away from the table, then turned back to Captain Porter, taking a few staccato steps backwards. He raised a hand to behind his head, a sign of him being unsure. "Hey, uh," he paused, moved his arm back down, gave a little shrug. "Thanks. For everything." And then before he could get any response for fear it would make him feel something like attachment or loss, he turned his back on his first crew, in favour of the Nancy Nox and the demon. He stopped about half way between the two crews' tables. He had noticed the way Fedora and Mr. Freeze had looked warily at Roland and the two women with the swords. It was generally not a good idea to let civilians get in the way, and since in this case the civilians were actually gun and sword-wielding pirates, Luke really didn't want to spook them. So he didn't want to make it entirely obvious that he was with the Nancy Nox, in case they needed a second wave of an attack. |

10/15/09 Fedora shooked the imprisoned woman, and the imprisoned demon in her, bound by the odd Iron Chains. Some inscription on the iron clasps can be seen. "This then is for you Captain Shatterhand, a true virginal princess of Persephone." She held up some documents, "As you wagered I couldn't not procure." Shatterhand moved forward and up the steps. |

10/15/09 Captain Porter clutched a talisman she wore about her neck, a familiar thing she did; and in this case in the manner she typically did just before all hell broke loose. As Luke joined his new crew, his old crew began to prepare as well. "Gods be with you Luke." she whispered to whoever. |

10/15/09 Melody explained to Belit about the sister swords they shared. "Really." Belit said skeptically. "Demons?" and the explanation that the swords could slay them was heard by Luke and Mullin nearby. Mary felt the confusion in the hall grow, some prepared for some idea of what was coming; others sensed a danger and just prepared. They were a hardened group, the thing bound in front of her didn't see quite human, but there was something there, lurking to get out. Beyond the cavern though, nothing could be heard. It was secure, no one could find it, no one.... Something from the bound woman though... called... called for.... the others. |

10/15/09
Roland declined to comment on Mary's rather sure speculations about the newcomers. Not that he didn't trust Mary, it was just that this seemed very premature. The Nox was not your typical ship and would just as likely repel those who didn't belong in her berths as she would invite those who's destiny lay with her.
"Varies depending on type," replied Roland, hearing Luke's question and stepping in to volunteer help. "I've been doing a bit of reading in my spare time of the Libram Hereticus for the different varieties. Let's see, you have the Caacrinolaas, Chimera, Bune and my personal favoritye Andrealphus. I've only made it to the C's, by the way." Roland fished in his leather coat and tossed Luke a well-worn book entitled, "How to Cast Out Demons: A Guide to the Basics". The cover read: No matter if you can't tell a deamon from a fire sprite, this guide will get you up to speed on your interdimensional entities in no time! Now, from the comfort of your own home you can learn to bind the forces of darkness using forbidden sorcery at your own pace and in your spare time! This is truly the casting out demons guide for the rest of us! "Try not to bend the pages, it's my only copy. There's a passage on page 36 that might come in useful if we get into too much trouble and..." he watched as the bound woman entered and knew that was their target. "...it looks like it's here. Hang on..." Roland stepped forward and addressed the newcomers. "Nice entrance, though I would've tried something a bit more subtle. Something about a potato sack over your head that just doesn't seem intimidating. You look like a reject from a dinner-theatre presentation of Dark Night of the Scarecrow. Now, I don't suppose you'll be reasonable and go back to your home plane of existance and save us a bit of trouble? I suppose that's too much to hope for." |

10/16/09 There was a lot starting to happen in the Hall. Whatever they had brought forth in front of them looked human enough, but even a layman could tell that something wasn't... right about this creature. It seemed like there was a mix of reactions. Some knew that something big was happening, maybe even the specifics of the event. They were prepared. Others sensed the danger now within the room and just prepared for something... anything that might happen. The slaves that were there had no clue as to what was coming. Their fear just increased a notch. She turned back to the creature and regarded it closely. The chains were keeping it bound, but they weren't keeping it silent. It wasn't a scream from the verbal sense, but one of a some other kind of communication, perhaps psychic. Mary cringed when it happened and she was almost sure she had seen someone else do the very same thing out of the corner of her eye. One of the new crew members perhaps? "She just called for the rest," Mary stated flatly. "They're coming." |

10/17/09 Mullin was no demon expert, but he was pretty sure the...call, for lack of a better term, that had come from the woman/demon was not a good thing, even though all he'd sensed was that she made it. At all. Also, demons were pure, dag nasty, evil, so anything it could be yelling out across the psychic airwaves couldn't be good. Still, he was in a room with several demon hunting crews, two of which contained people with magic swords that could evidently kill demons. He was skeptical on that front, but he'd give them the benefit of a doubt. But in the meantime, he'd seen that Mary girl flinch a bit too, and from her declaration that "they" were coming a moment later, he decided that she must be some kind of psychic. Probably better at it than him. Still, knowing that "something" was coming and that the "something" had been called by a demon, was not reassuring in any sense of the word, and Mullin stepped a little closer to the crew of the Nox, pulling out a flask of holy water from his jacket pocket and loosening the lid. |

"Captain" of the Jolly Roger Tavern
|
10/17/09 Captain Shatterhand had moved toward the imprisoned woman. Unknown to him, a demon inside, and bound there with the iron about the female host. Fedora intended for him to take the demon to his ship, and then ... let all hell break loose... But Shatterhand suddenly moved and pulled out the iron mouth gag. "No." said Fedora, but it was too late. As thick demon smoke moved from the woman's mouth to to Shatterhand's, two guards entered. "Captain Fedora?!" Fedora has stepped back. This was not going as planned, but she figured she could ... think of something. "What?" she replied. The demon in its smokey form moved from one host that had been bound, to another that was not. "Two Alliance Patrol boats up in the black, over head. and..." "And an escort of... " "of reaver skiffs." "What?" Fedora said, just as Captain Shatterhand turned toward his crew and shoved a knife into Fedora's side. Shatterhand's black eyes could be seen. His voice commanded to his crew. "It's a trap! Kill them all!" All hell broke loose in the Jolly Roger. |

Luke

10/18/09 Luke caught the book Roland tossed at him, barely. With the shotgun in his hand he fumbled for a moment, having to stoop quickly to catch the book from falling to the floor. He scowled, preferring to look angry than embarrassed as he felt. And why had Roland tossed him the book - Luke had asked how to kill a demon, not how to read about it in a book. Luke wanted a fight, he was ready for some action. Why not give one of the girls the book, let them handle the theory while he practiced the physical violence. Luke was pretty much ready to toss the book aside and just jump into the fray, but as Mary mentioned the approach of 'the others', his sister stood in front of him, arms folded with a sharp look to match his own. "Those hosts are human. And you're not killing any humans. You've got to at least try to release them." Luke rolled his eyes, pulled a face and bobbed his head from side to side, mocking his sister's seriousness. But he sighed and then placing his shotgun close to hand on the table nearest him, he began flicking through the book to the recommended page thirty-six. "Ruttin better work," he grumbled through gritted teeth as he searched for some kind of spell or incantation or whatever he was supposed to read. |

Roland raised his shotgun to the ceiling and delivered a cruel roundhouse kick to the handler of the chained woman. Another steel-toed boot was delivered to the chest as his opponent went down. With speed he smashed the butt of the shotgun into head of the chained woman, breaking any incantation she was engaged in. With a casual glance to his felled foes Roland shrugged and said, "They'll live." He loaded his weapon with slugs and stood spread eagled with his weapon trained on the door way and slung low. "I grow weary of cowards who use mortals to do their dirty work. So far I am *not* impressed. I would expect more from a lowly imp or sprite. Tsk tsk, what they let into the material plane nowadays...." "Come on, I hunger for a fight! Playtime's over!" |
