Name: Abenette “Abe” Kelker

Ship Applying For: TBD - Character Holding Pen (for later use)

Age: 27

Appearance:

Hair: Dark Brown
Eyes: Blue
Height: 5’6”
Weight: 115 lbs.

Abe has dark hair and clear blue eyes. She doesn’t look like much, but she is very toned and strong. She has excellent eyesight and is very aware of her surroundings. She notices details that most people would miss. She looks very young for her age (looks 16 or 17) and often gets asked where her parents are when she travels, which she HATES.

She has no scars. She does have a tattoo of "Dude" across her ribs (example below - just not of the right gun and starts a little higher - it is a bigger gun after all )

Attributes and Skills: She has impressive gun talent. Her motto: If it has bullets, I can shoot it. Picks up a new weapon quickly, usually within a couple of shots. Accomplished sniper.

First Impression: Abe is very confident and independent, but can lay the innocent act on thick if it suits her needs. She’s used to not being believed when people find out how good she is with a gun. It usually takes a meeting with her and the very large gun she carries to make them believers. She can fight, but due to her size, she fights better by using dirty or “hit and run” tactics.

Under the Surface: When someone doesn’t know her, she feels in need to have to prove herself to them. Since she doesn’t fit the mould of your everyday gunner/sniper, it is easier to show them her skills rather than entertain speculation or endure offhanded comments. So expect a couple of shooting contests in the beginning.

Deep Dark Self: She often finds herself unconsciously rebelling against her upbringing. She plans on never getting married. She doesn’t want to be under a man’s thumb. She has had at least one long term relationship, one with the Captain of that first ship that was attacked by pirates. It ended badly and she left the ship.

She’s a good cook, but doesn’t like to do it unless she has to. She’s able to sew to the extent of making her own clothes, but won’t; she will buy them even if she is short on coin.

Public / Common History: Abenette was grew up on Triumph in a male dominated culture with her father, mother and two older brothers. Her mother taught her the skills that a female in a house would need to know: cooking, cleaning, sewing and the like. Her father spent his time with her brothers doing the same things, but with things like hunting, shooting, farming, etc. Abenette learned her “part,” but was never happy about the prospect of settling for that kind of life when she felt she could do better things.

When she was able, Abenette would follow her brothers around trying to do whatever they were doing. When they started to learn to shoot, she asked over and over if she could try. They usually told her that guns were for men and not girls. But she was persistent and they finally relented, hoping it would make her go away. Her first couple shots went wide and they laughed at her, but after a couple of more, she hit the target perfectly every time she shot. A neighbor then told her father that one of his children had a real talent for shooting. Her dad asked which of the boys it was and was shocked to find out that it was Abenette.

After her mother passed on, her father decided that it would be good for Abenette to go live with her Aunt and Uncle on Greenleaf in hopes she could find a suitable husband and settle down, which she hated. On her way there, the ship was attacked by pirates and her talent with anything with bullets also extended to the big guns. She helped fight off the pirates with some well place gun turret hits. This event helped her to discover that she had some marketable skills that would give her the autonomy she wanted. She never arrived at her Aunt and Uncle’s house, instead she waved them to tell them she had found a job instead. It was then that she joined the crew of the boat she had traveled on, took on the nickname “Abe,” and became the sole commander of her own life.

Unknown History: Although Abe hasn’t pinpointed it yet, she may be a touch tweaked. She likes to shoot stuff and during a job, doesn’t have any qualms about cutting down someone who was there to harm her or her crew.

She also has the tendency to name the weapons she wields. She has a gun forever at her side. It is so big that it looks rather ridiculous on her small frame. She calls it “Dude.” Even the gun turret is named; she calls it “Bob.”

Secret History: Nothing secret going on. Abe is an open book.

Strengths: She has a true gift when it comes to guns and weapons. A sure shot. Once she understands how a particular weapon works, it doesn’t take her long before she becomes proficient enough to cause some damage.

Her confidence in her own skills is steadfast. No second thinking involved. She knows how to do her job and does it well.

Weaknesses: She is not good at hand-to-hand combat, so having her in a fray such as that could make her a liability.

She can be quick tempered, especially if it is about her shooting or her age. She doesn’t like to be treated like a child and will go out of her way to rectify that problem, even if it end up putting her in a not-so-good situation. In other words, getting into a shouting match with the biggest guy in the house when you are unarmed is probably not a good idea.
